Welcome to Loveland Water and Power's latest Municipal Water Quality Report. As a valued customer of Loveland Water and Power (LWP), our priority is delivering safe, reliable water to all residents. We're pleased to confirm that throughout the reporting period, all water distributed through our network met or exceeded established state and federal quality standards.

The Environmental Protection Agency requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report (Annual Municipal Water Quality Report) to customers. This document provides a comprehensive overview of LWP's water sources, treatment processes, contaminant testing results, and educational information. LWP draws its raw water from the Colorado River and Big Thompson River basins, including resources from the Colorado-Big Thompson and Windy Gap projects. We actively participate in the Big Thompson Watershed Forum (BTWF), an organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing water quality through collaborative monitoring, analysis, and educational initiatives. This proactive approach allows us to identify trends and implement protective measures for our water sources.

Additionally, LWP contributes to the Big Thompson River Biosurvey Project, which evaluates river health using fish and aquatic organism assessments. How does the County ensure accurate water meter readings and billing?

Most water meters in our service area utilize electronic radio interface technology, minimizing human error. Meter data transfers electronically to our billing system, with automatic comparisons to previous readings and seasonal usage patterns. Significant discrepancies trigger individual staff review and, if necessary, field investigations to identify and resolve issues. While meter over-registration is extremely rare, transmitter malfunctions occasionally occur. We strive for complete accuracy in all water meter readings. Why did I receive an estimated water bill?

Estimated usage typically results from a non-functioning meter. Contact the Water and Sewer Billing Division at 410-313-2058 to schedule a meter repair appointment.

I'm moving to another home. How do I update my address?

Direct all billing information changes to the Water and Sewer Billing Department at 410-313-2058. Note that water bills are not automatically forwarded through postal service change-of-address requests. All forwarding addresses must be submitted directly to the Department of Finance.

My bill seems excessive after lawn watering. Why are sewer charges higher than water charges?

Both water and sewer rates are calculated based on metered water consumption. Your usage is multiplied by the applicable water and sewer rates, with sewer charges typically higher due to wastewater treatment costs.

Can I get a bill adjustment for a leak on my property?

The County may adjust sewer charges for underground leaks. First repair the leak, then submit a written adjustment request to the Department of Finance with documentation of repairs and your contact information. A utility worker will verify the repair and determine if an adjustment is warranted.

How can I estimate the cost of filling my pool?

To calculate your water bill: Divide the number of gallons used by 748 (gallons per unit of consumption), then multiply by current water and sewer rates.
