The Monroeville Municipal Authority (MMA) is pleased to present our 2017 Water Quality Statement. This report provides our customers with a comprehensive overview of their water source, treatment processes, and daily quality monitoring results.
At MMA, our dedicated team shares a unified mission - delivering safe, reliable water to our customers at the most affordable rates possible. We consistently work to meet and exceed standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), and Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD).
For questions about this report or our operations, please contact our administrative office at (412)372-2677 or visit www.monroevillewater.org. The MMA Board of Directors holds public meetings at 7pm on the third Monday of each month at our Speelman Lane facility.
WATER SOURCE INFORMATION: Throughout 2017, MMA purchased finished water from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (MAWC). MAWC's water comes from both the Beaver Run Reservoir and Youghiogheny River. These sources face potential vulnerability from transportation corridor spills, sewage discharges, and runoff from developed/agricultural areas. Beaver Run has additional susceptibility to petroleum releases from nearby storage facilities.
A Resource Water Assessment of MAWC's intake sources was completed in 2002 by PA DEP. Summary reports are available on our website at https://www.monroevillewater.org/sweeney and https://www.monroevillewater.org/yough. Complete reports were distributed to municipalities, water suppliers, planning agencies and PA DEP offices.
