The City of Wasilla provides municipal water through a system of three primary groundwater wells and four 1-million gallon above-ground steel reservoirs. The utility serves approximately 1,100 connections to residents, schools, and businesses, meeting peak demands of up to one million gallons daily.
Fire protection is available directly to buildings and through roughly 400 fire hydrants throughout the service area. The water undergoes chlorine treatment to maintain minimal residual levels in the distribution system, with no additional chemicals added.
Metered water service costs $9.12 per thousand gallons, with a monthly minimum of $45.57 plus city sales tax. We're proud to announce that the City of Wasilla was recognized by the Alaska Rural Water Association (ARWA) at their 13th Annual Conference for having Alaska's best-tasting water.
