Municipal Water Utility Company FAQ

For more information on your municipal water, visit the U.S. CDC:
Aqua Ohio - Struthers Municipal Water Company and CDCWhat are Deed Restrictions?
Deed restrictions are written agreements that limit or control how property in a subdivision can be used. These restrictions are recorded in county property records where the property is located and are binding on every property owner in that subdivision.
Can the City provide deed restriction copies?
The City does not maintain current deed restriction records. Contact the Harris County Clerk's Office at 713-274-6230 for copies. You can obtain these in person at the Harris County Clerk's Branch Office at 101 S. Richey Street, Pasadena, TX, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a nominal fee.
What do my Deed Restrictions allow?
Since deed restrictions are private agreements between subdivision property owners and the City is not party to these agreements, City staff cannot interpret individual restrictions.
Can the City enforce my deed restrictions?
To report deed restriction violations, contact the Legal Department at 713-475-5515.
Is my property zoned?
The City does not have zoning and therefore does not have zoning maps. Land development is governed by local codes, ordinances, and deed restrictions where applicable. Check these for guidelines on specific land use and business activities.
How can I get City ordinance copies?
Visit www.Municode.com or the City website at www.ci.Pasadena.tx.us
Can I place a manufactured home on my property?
- A minimum lot area of 5,000 sq. ft. is required for each manufactured home on a private lot with a minimum width of 50 feet at the front property line.
- Three or more manufactured homes on one tract constitutes a manufactured home park and must follow all provisions of the Manufactured Home Park Ordinance.
- RVs or travel trailers cannot be used as residences except in licensed manufactured home parks.
- Manufactured homes cannot be placed in subdivisions with restrictive deed covenants against them.
For permitting questions, contact the City Permit Department at 713-475-5575.
Can the City locate my property lines or survey my property?
Only a registered land surveyor can accurately determine property lines, buildings, and fences. Property owners must determine their own property lines. The City does not provide survey services. The Harris County Clerk's office maintains subdivision maps showing approximate lot locations and measurements, but not survey details. For property line disputes, consider obtaining a professional land survey or consulting an attorney.
Can I build across property lines?
No, you cannot build across property lines. The City requires documentation to remove lot lines before issuing a building permit for construction across lots. Review the City's Platting Procedures Guide for more information.
