About Bluffdale City: Bluffdale City was established in 1848 and officially incorporated as the City of Bluffdale on October 13, 1978. The Utah Territory formed following petitions from Mormon pioneers who settled in the Great Salt Lake valley beginning in 1847.
Bluffdale is uniquely situated in both Salt Lake and Utah Counties, approximately 24 miles south of Salt Lake City's center. Historically, Bluffdale encompassed a larger area than today's boundaries, including portions of Riverton, Draper, and Herriman. Its original borders extended north to 13800 South, east to I-15 in Draper, south to Lehi, and west to 5400 W in Herriman City.
