Pennsylvania Water Utility Companies

We're pleased to present this annual municipal water quality report to our customers. Our primary water source is the Heffner surface water reservoir, with Marilla and Gilbert surface water reservoirs serving as secondary backup sources. All water delivered to our system originates from the protected Bradford Watershed lands.

A Source Water Assessment has identified that our water sources face potential vulnerabilities from transportation corridors, stormwater runoff, and oil & gas wells. However, our overall assessment shows very minimal risk of significant contamination.

Summary reports of the Assessment are available by writing to the BCWA office at 28 Kennedy St., Bradford, PA 16701, and can also be accessed through the PA DEP website at www.Dep.Nation.Pa.Us (search "source water"). Complete reports have been distributed to municipalities, water suppliers, local planning agencies and PA DEP offices. Full reports can be reviewed at the PA DEP Meadville Office, Record Management Unit by calling 814-332-6945.

BCWA routinely monitors contaminants in your municipal water according to federal and state regulations. The results table in this report shows findings from January 1st to December 31st, 2017. State regulations allow us to monitor certain contaminants less frequently as their concentrations rarely change. During 2017, PA DEP issued a "Failure to Monitor or Report" Violation due to late reporting of Combined Filter Effluent, which was promptly corrected once identified.
