Citrus Springs Municipal Water Company and EPACitrus Springs Municipal Water Report Info
Every day at noon, the previous 24 hours become permanently etched into history. Unfortunately, much of our local history has been lost because people never documented their surroundings, occupations, daily lives, and the landscapes they inhabited through writing, illustrations, or photographs.
As we navigate our busy lives witnessing daily changes, we often fail to recognize the impact these transformations will have on future generations. When contemporary accounts aren't created and archived, crucial building blocks of our community development vanish, some potentially lost forever—creating a significant disadvantage for future residents of our area.
Understanding our past—both its successes and failures—is essential for future inhabitants to progress in a positive, life-enhancing manner. In an effort to document some of Citrus Springs' history and surrounding areas, I've begun gathering as much information as possible through resident interviews and research at our Community Library. However, there's much more to uncover.
This story needs to be written, and I'll do so in small segments as I'm able. If you or someone you know has been a resident of Citrus Springs or Dunnellon since its development or earlier, I'd love to hear your story. Please contact me at CSCA.roy@Brighthouse.com.
