About Us
The City of Arcata is committed to delivering safe, reliable, high-quality water to all residents. The Consumer Confidence Statement (CCR) is an annual water quality assessment that the City must provide to customers in compliance with Safe Drinking Water Act regulations. This report aims to educate customers about their water quality, source origins, and the importance of protecting local water resources.
We encourage you to review this document to better understand your water supply. This report presents monitoring results from January 1 through December 31, 2017. Our 2017 monitoring and testing program confirms that Arcata's water quality remains excellent, continuing a trend seen in previous years. We conducted over 1,700 tests for 16 different parameters in your municipal water during this period.
If you have questions about your water or this report, please contact Rachel Hernandez, Environmental Compliance Officer at (707) 822-8184. Residents are welcome to attend Arcata City Council meetings held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at 736 F Street to discuss any water-related concerns.
Property owners: Please share this report with tenants who may not receive it directly. You can post it in a common area, distribute copies, or direct tenants to http://www.cityofarcata.org/327/Water-Quality-Reports.
Cross Connection Protection: Backflow prevention assemblies are critical safety devices that allow water to flow into your property from the public system while preventing reverse flow that could introduce contaminants into the municipal water supply. These devices require annual testing to ensure they're functioning properly. If your property has a well, fire sprinklers, or extensive landscaping, you likely have backflow prevention installed. For questions about testing requirements, contact Mike Clinton, Deputy Director of Environmental Services, Roads and Utilities at (707) 822-8184.
