Important Health Information

Nitrate levels above 10 ppm pose health risks to infants under six months old, potentially causing blue baby syndrome. Nitrate levels may rise rapidly due to rainfall or agricultural activity. If caring for an infant, consult your healthcare provider.

While our water meets EPA's arsenic standards, it contains low levels of arsenic. EPA continues researching the health effects of low arsenic levels, which at high concentrations is known to cause cancer and is linked to skin damage and circulatory problems.

Immunocompromised individuals (those undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, some elderly, and infants) may be particularly susceptible to waterborne infections. These individuals should seek advice from healthcare providers. Understanding Your Water

Arizona Department of Environmental Quality regulations limit contaminant levels in public water systems to ensure tap water safety. FDA regulations establish similar limits for bottled water. All drinking water, including bottled varieties, may reasonably contain at least small amounts of some contaminants, which doesn't necessarily indicate health risks.

Water sources (both tap and bottled) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels over land or underground, it dissolves naturally occurring minerals, sometimes radioactive materials, and substances from animal or human activities.

2. How do I update my mailing address for billing?
   You can visit your local Arizona Water Company office to complete a Customer Information Change form, or email your local office with your (1) name on account, (2) account number, (3) previous address, and (4) new address.
3. Can I request water service be suspended when I'm away for several months?
   Yes, you have two options:
   • Final Bill: Service is disconnected and a final bill issued. Reconnecting within one year requires payment of back minimums or eight times the minimum (whichever is less) as a reestablishment fee.
   • Courtesy Off: Service is disconnected until you request reactivation. Minimum charges continue monthly. This option is typically used for temporarily vacant properties.
4. Is there a fee for courtesy turn-on or turn-off service?
   Arizona Water Company provides this service at no charge during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) with three days' advance notice when possible. After-hours service incurs a $35 fee.
5. Who can enroll in SurePay?
   SurePay is available to all residential and commercial customers billed by Arizona Water Company. Your account must be in good standing and not subject to current payment arrangements.
6. What does SurePay cost?
   Arizona Water Company charges no signup or participation fees, though some financial institutions may charge for electronic fund transfers.
7. How will I know when my SurePay enrollment is active?
   Within one or two billing cycles, your water bill will show the date of the first automatic deduction. Active participants will see a SurePay notice on all bills. Continue making payments normally until your participation is activated.
8. What happens if a SurePay payment is rejected?
   Payments may be rejected by your financial institution due to insufficient funds, closed accounts, or other reasons. Your bank may impose fees. Arizona Water Company will add its approved service charge to your next bill and reserves the right to terminate your SurePay participation.
9. How do I update my SurePay information?
   For address changes, contact your local Arizona Water Company office. For bank account changes, submit a new SurePay Application and Authorization. Incorrect information may cause payment rejection. The Company isn't responsible for charges resulting from erroneous information or failure to provide timely updates.
10. How do I cancel SurePay?
    Complete the SurePay cancellation form, sign it, and mail or fax it to the address provided. Termination becomes effective within 10 business days of receipt.
11. Will Arizona Water Company call to request my financial information?
    Arizona Water Company will never call customers requesting bank account or credit card information. Do not provide personal details to unknown callers.
12. How can I identify Arizona Water Company employees?
    All employees wear uniforms with visible Arizona Water Company identification and drive vehicles displaying the company logo. They also carry photo ID badges showing their name and title.
