About Us
Certain populations may be more vulnerable to contaminants in municipal water, particularly Cryptosporidium. This includes infants, elderly residents, and immunocompromised individuals such as those undergoing cancer treatment, organ transplants, steroid therapy, or managing HIV/AIDS.
If you fall into these categories, consult your healthcare provider about your water consumption. For additional information about reducing Cryptosporidium infection risk, contact the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at (800) 426-4791.
Water Source Information: Crowley's municipal water comes from purchased surface water. The supply originates from multiple sources including Lake Worth, Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake Bridgeport, Richland Chambers Reservoir, Cedar Creek Reservoir, Lake Benbrook, and Clear Fork Trinity River, all purchased from the City of Fort Worth.
Source Water Assessment: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is updating the Source Water Susceptibility Assessment for our water supplies. This assessment identifies potential contamination risks based on human activities and natural conditions. For more information about water sources, please visit the Source Water Assessment Viewer at http://tceq.Texas.Gov/gis/swaview. Additional information is available through Drinking Water Watch at http://dww2.Tceq.Texas.Gov/DWW/.
Potential Contaminant Sources:
- Microbial contaminants from sewage treatment plants, septic systems, agricultural operations, and wildlife
- Inorganic contaminants including salts and metals from urban runoff, industrial discharges, oil/gas production, mining, or farming
- Pesticides and herbicides from agriculture, urban runoff, and residential use
- Organic chemical contaminants from industrial processes, petroleum production, gas stations, and septic systems
- Radioactive contaminants that occur naturally or result from oil/gas production and mining
Our Annual Water Quality Report covers January 1 to December 31, 2017, summarizing water quality based on EPA-required testing. All drinking water sources (both tap and bottled) contain at least minimal levels of some contaminants, which doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.
To ensure public safety, the EPA establishes regulations limiting contaminant levels in public water systems. The testing table in our complete report lists only detected substances, though many more were tested. For information about taste, odor, or color concerns, please contact our Public Works Department.

City of Crowley Municipal Water Company and EPACity of Crowley Municipal Water Report Information
The Crowley Police Department has a rich history serving our community. Starting with just one officer in July 1962, it became an official city department in 1971 when the first police chief was appointed. The original department operated with minimal resources - a single patrol vehicle, one radio, and a small office within City Hall.
As Crowley grew, so did its police force. The department first expanded by acquiring a small building with one jail cell, later relocating to 201 South Texas Street, which featured five jail cells, a dispatch center, four sally port bays, and expanded office space.
In 2007, Crowley residents approved $4.2 million for a new police facility, completed in March 2008. The modern 22,000 square-foot building includes space for 24 inmates and supports a comprehensive staff of 48 personnel. Today's department includes 16 sworn patrol officers, specialized traffic and school resource officers, and a code enforcement officer, all supported by professional civilian staff including dispatchers, administrators, and technical specialists.
The department's annual budget covers Police, Code Compliance, and Crime Control divisions, managed by Chief Kit Long with Command Staff support. Their equipment includes 19 vehicles, radar equipment, an ATV, patrol motorcycles, and specialized transport vehicles to serve our growing community effectively.
