The City of Monroe is proud to present this comprehensive water quality report. This overview covers January 1 through December 31, 2017, using data from the most recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required testing protocols.

Our Water Sources: City of Monroe draws water from multiple sources. Most comes from Monroe's local reservoir system, with supplemental supply from the Catawba River in Lancaster County, S.C. The Monroe reservoir network includes Lake Twitty, Lake Lee, and Lake Monroe, which collectively store over two billion gallons and can supply approximately 11 million gallons daily to customers. The Catawba River source provides an additional 1.99 million gallons of capacity per day.

Treatment Process: Water from Monroe lakes undergoes comprehensive treatment at the John Glenn Water Treatment Plant. The process begins with chemical coagulation to clump small particles together, followed by sedimentation to remove impurities. Next, water passes through carbon and sand filtration beds to eliminate remaining particles. Disinfection occurs through chlorine and ammonia addition, ensuring water safety throughout the distribution system. Fluoride is added for dental health benefits, and pH is carefully adjusted to minimize pipe corrosion in both the city's distribution network and in homes and businesses. Catawba-sourced water receives similar thorough treatment.

1. How do I add family members after creating a household account?
   When establishing your family account, include all household members even if they aren't registering for activities immediately. While members can be added later, you'll need to visit an activity center in person to make these additions.
2. Can I register for classes that have already begun?
   Classes that have already started may not be available for online registration. Please contact the City of Murphy Recreation Department at (972) 468-4067 during business hours to inquire about late registration options.
3. What payment methods are accepted online?
   Online registration accepts credit cards (VISA and MasterCard) and debit cards (VISA and MasterCard). Registration is only complete after payment processing. We recommend printing your receipt as proof of enrollment in case your name is inadvertently omitted from a class roster.
4. My child doesn't meet the published age requirements for a program. What options do I have?
   Online registration isn't available for participants outside the published age range. Contact the City of Murphy Recreation Department at (972) 468-4067 weekdays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to request instructor approval if applicable.
5. Are online transactions secure?
   All payments are processed with high-level security through ETS merchant services, a global internet payment processor. Disable any pop-up blockers or add the City of Murphy Online Registration as a trusted site to ensure proper functionality and receipt generation.
6. Why do multiple charges appear on my credit card for one registration?
   Each time you click "submit," your credit card will register a pending charge, so it's crucial to click this button only once during the registration process.
7. What is your refund policy?
   Cancellations and refunds cannot be processed online. For unexpected circumstances preventing attendance, refunds are available with 72 hours notice prior to class start. No refunds are issued after classes begin. Approved refunds typically take 7-10 business days to appear on your credit card statement.
8. Can I apply account credit toward online registration fees?
   Yes. Any existing account credit will automatically apply to your total charges during checkout. For questions about using your credit, email or call (972) 468-4067 during regular business hours.
9. How is my personal information used?
   Your information is used solely to complete requested transactions and analyze usage trends. The city does not share this data with outside parties except as necessary to fulfill your order, and never sells information about current or former members to third parties.
