About Us
We are pleased to present this year's Water Quality Report for our community. Our mission is to deliver safe, reliable municipal water to our customers every day.
Your water supply comes from groundwater wells - six wells draw from the Upper Cape Fear Aquifer along the Lenoir/Wayne county border, while twenty wells access rock formations in western Wayne County. For emergencies, we maintain connections with Goldsboro, Wayne Sanitary District, and Johnston County systems.
Fork Township Sanitary District conducts regular monitoring for contaminants according to Federal and State regulations. We're proud to confirm our municipal water meets all federal and state safety requirements. This report outlines our water quality testing results from January through December 2018, along with previous test results for contaminants not scheduled for testing in 2018.
We invite residents with questions to contact Glenn Kennedy at 919-736-2551. If you'd like to learn more about our operations, please attend our monthly meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Fork Township Office.
Remember that all water, including bottled water, may contain small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of these substances doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. EPA and State regulations require less frequent monitoring for certain contaminants when their concentrations aren't expected to vary significantly year to year.

As water travels through ground and surface sources, it can collect various substances including minerals, microbes, and chemicals. The EPA sets standards to ensure public water systems protect against contaminants that may harm public health.
Our district routinely tests for over 80 regulated contaminants and many unregulated substances to ensure your water meets or exceeds all safety standards. Test results are available to the public through our annual Consumer Confidence Report.
