We're pleased to present this year's Annual Quality Water Report. This document aims to inform you about the quality of water and services we deliver daily. Our primary goal is providing you a safe and reliable water supply.

We want you to understand our ongoing efforts to improve water treatment processes and protect our water sources. We're committed to ensuring your water quality. Our supply comes from ground water wells that draw from the glacial sand and gravel outwash aquifer influenced by the Driftwood and Flatrock Rivers.

Our system collaborates with the community to raise awareness about proper waste disposal practices to further safeguard our water sources. We also work with other organizations and local watershed groups to educate residents on maintaining water safety.

If you have questions about this report or your water quality, please contact Donald Smith, Jr., at (812) 526-9777 or email quality@ebwconline.net. We encourage our valued customers to stay informed about their water service.

Eastern Bartholomew Water Corporation systematically monitors components in your water according to Federal and State regulations. This notice shows monitoring results from January 1st to December 31st, 2017. All municipal water, including bottled water, can reasonably contain small amounts of certain elements. Remember that the presence of these substances doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.

We at EBWC are proud that your water meets or exceeds all Federal and State requirements. Our monitoring has detected some substances, but the EPA has determined your water IS SAFE at these levels. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, call the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.

Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. People with compromised immune systems, including those undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, some elderly, and infants may face increased infection risks. These individuals should seek advice from healthcare providers about drinking water safety. EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminant risks are available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.

If present, elevated lead levels can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead primarily comes from materials associated with service lines and home plumbing. While Eastern Bartholomew Water Corporation provides high-quality water, we cannot control materials used in plumbing components. When water sits unused for several hours, you can minimize lead exposure by flushing your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. For concerns about lead, consider water testing. Information about lead in drinking water is available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline or at www.epa.gov/safewater/lead.

A Source Water Assessment (SWA) has classified our system with moderate susceptibility risk. For more information, contact the EBWC office or IDEM's Drinking Water Branch at (317) 308-3329.

We at EBWC work around the clock to deliver quality water to every tap. We ask all customers to help protect our water resources, which represent our community's heart, lifestyle, and our children's future.
