The Township of Falls Authority first established water and sewer service in 1961 when it acquired infrastructure from the Danhurst Corporation. This included a one-million-gallon daily water treatment facility west of Newbold Road, supplied by three nearby wells.

As service demands grew, TOFA required additional water sources through interconnections with neighboring systems. Eventually, these supplemental sources became primary as the original plant and wells were decommissioned by late 1979 due to declining production and distance from developing areas.

Sewer services were initially handled by a small treatment facility built by Danhurst in the mid-1950s. Like the water system, it couldn't always accommodate new development, resulting in service being divided among several providers based on agreements, drainage basins, and designated service areas. This created a disconnection between water and sewer service zones, where residents might have different providers for each utility.

In December 1995, the Authority was dissolved with responsibility transferred to Falls Township until December 2006, when the Township of Falls Authority was reestablished to better serve water and sewer customers.

The sewer system comprises 60 miles of concrete, iron, and clay pipes. Through gravity and 11 pump stations, it transports approximately 3 million gallons of sewage daily. Service areas are distributed among several treatment providers: Lower Bucks Joint Municipal Authority (4,250 acres), Morrisville Municipal Authority (1,000 acres), U.S. Steel Corp. (4,400 acres), and Philadelphia Water Department (2,750 acres).

The water system consists of 60 miles of piping fed from five interconnections with two neighboring systems (Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority and Morrisville Municipal Authority), delivering approximately 2.85 million gallons of potable water daily. The system also includes two emergency interconnections, three pumping stations to maintain water pressure, and four elevated storage tanks for pressure regulation and fire protection.
