The Hamilton Water and Sewer Department operates under the supervision of Rodney Williams, providing service to residents and businesses throughout Hamilton. The department maintains approximately 195 miles of water infrastructure, consisting of 165 miles of PVC mains and 30 miles of cast/ductile iron piping, with availability at all four I22 exits.
Water storage capacity includes one 336,000-gallon clearwell and nine ground storage tanks totaling 3,400,000 gallons. The system features five booster pumping stations with a combined rated capacity of 600 gpm. An emergency connection with the Guin Water and Sewer Board exists for supplemental supply when needed.
The wastewater facility, originally built in 1983 and upgraded in 1999, now processes 1.5 million gallons daily. Approximately 500,000 gallons flow through 18 sewer pumping stations serving 1,100 customers. The Alabama Department of Environmental Management regularly confirms proper maintenance and operation of these facilities.
