About Us
We are pleased to provide this Annual Water Quality Report (Consumer Confidence Report) as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). This document offers insights into your water source, its contents, and how it compares to regulatory standards. It represents a snapshot of last year's water quality analysis.
We believe informed consumers are our greatest allies in maintaining safe water standards. Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems—including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, elderly individuals, and infants—should consult healthcare providers about their municipal water consumption.
EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing infection risks from Cryptosporidium and other microbes are available through the Safe Water Drinking Hotline at (800) 426-4791.
The Cretaceous Sand Aquifer supplies water to all Houston County customers through our four water systems. Nineteen deep wells strategically located throughout the county pump treated, disinfected water into distribution mains and elevated tanks as needed. Our operators monitor water systems and quality year-round, 24/7.
For information about the most recent source water assessment, please contact John Bell or Clay Walker Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00, at the Houston County Lakeview Water Treatment Facility (1601 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088) at (478) 953-1110.
All municipal water, including bottled varieties, may reasonably contain small amounts of contaminants. Their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at (800) 426-4791.
Water sources (tap and bottled) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels over land surfaces or through ground layers, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and sometimes radioactive materials, and may collect substances from human or animal activity.
