HEALTH INFORMATION
All drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably contain at least small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of contaminants doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact the Environmental Protection Agency's safe drinking water hotline (800-426-4791).
Certain populations may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than others. Immunocompromised individuals such as cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders, elderly individuals, and infants may face increased infection risks. These individuals should seek advice about drinking water from their healthcare providers. EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing infection risk from cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants are available from the EPA's safe drinking water hotline (800-426-4791).

Welcome to the City of Manitowoc, Wisconsin – Home of the Great Spirit. On behalf of our citizens, I'm delighted to invite you to explore our charming and historic lakeside community.
As Wisconsin's Maritime Capital, we take immense pride in hosting the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, which chronicles Manitowoc's rich history on Lake Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes region. The museum highlights our significant contribution during World War II when we constructed 28 submarines for the war effort. Visitors can tour the USS Cobia, an authentic submarine docked in the Manitowoc River.
Our location directly on Lake Michigan provides stunning scenery and a beautiful lakefront. The shoreline features the Manitowoc Marina, a state-of-the-art full-service complex just three hours from Chicago, 90 minutes from Milwaukee, and a half-day sail from Door County. Enjoy Mariners Trail, a scenic 13-mile path stretching along the lake from Manitowoc to Two Rivers.
Our vibrant downtown offers diverse shopping options, and nearby stands the Rahr-West Art Museum, housed in an 1891-93 mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Mrs. Clara Rahr donated this historic building to the city in 1941 to serve as a museum and civic center.
Our community thrives on its manufacturing foundation - from building vessels for war efforts during Lincoln's presidency to crafting mega-yachts at the world-famous Burger Boat Company, producing cranes and ice machines at the renowned Manitowoc Company, developing our I-43 industrial park, and creating delicious ice cream at Cedar Crest or Beerntsen's.
