1. What are Craven County Water's hours of operation? Craven County Water is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. If you need to establish new service in the office, please arrive no later than 4:30pm to allow sufficient processing time. We observe the same holidays as other Craven County Government offices.
2. What areas are serviced by Craven County Water? We cover a diverse and widespread population outside city limits, including portions of Harlowe, Havelock, James City, Brice's Creek, Vanceboro, Ernul, Cove City, Fort Barnwell, Jasper, and Spring Garden. If you're uncertain about your service provider, our Customer Service Clerks can verify your address.
3. How do I set up Craven County Water service? You have several options:
   • Visit our office at 2830 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, N.C. 28562 with your lease/purchase agreement, government-issued photo ID, and payment method.
   • Download forms from our website and mail them with required documents and payment.
   • Complete forms online and await email instructions for payment through Official Payments.
4. Why do I have to show my ID? We require identification for new service setup and check payments to protect our customers from identity theft.
5. What is Craven County Water's current rate schedule? Rates can be found by clicking Information-Forms Information-Forms.
6. Does Craven County Water service my sewer too? No, we don't provide sewer services. Please check with your landlord or realtor for information about available providers in your area.
7. Does Craven County Water service trash collection? No, please contact Craven County Solid Waste for trash collection information.
8. Does Craven County Water send out bills through email? Currently no, but we anticipate offering online billing within the next 2-5 years.
9. Why do I have to provide my account number when calling the office? This requirement protects our customers' privacy when requesting information, making changes, or terminating water service.
10. When is my Craven County Water bill due? Bills are due upon presentation. Non-receipt doesn't prevent delinquency or payment obligation. Bills become delinquent twenty days after the billing date, after which a 10% penalty applies.

Our 14,000+ accounts are divided into four billing regions based on Townships, each with different billing, due, and disconnection dates. Billing dates vary monthly based on the calendar:

• Neuse River: billed between the 1st-5th
• Township 6: billed between the 5th-10th
• North West Craven: billed between the 15th-20th
• East Craven: billed between the 20th-25th

You can receive text/email reminders by using the NOTIFY ME feature on our calendar, though this service sends notifications even for paid bills. Contact our office for specific billing information.
