About Us
For twelve consecutive years, the City of Moline has partnered with talented students from Moline-Coal Valley School District 40 to create our annual water quality report. This collaboration helps make essential information more engaging for our residents.
Third-grade students from all 10 elementary schools participated in this year's art contest themed "Protect the Source." New this year, Seton Catholic School joined our initiative, broadening community involvement among Moline youth. The students created vibrant artwork highlighting the importance of our Mississippi River water source and the need for maintaining high-quality water for both economic development and public safety.
The creativity displayed by these young artists demonstrates promising potential for our community's future. Mayor Stephanie Acri and District 40 Assistant School Superintendent Matt DeBaene recognized the student artists at a special City Hall ceremony on May 8, 2018, with aldermen, families, and city staff gathering to celebrate their achievements.
We're grateful to these young citizens for enhancing Moline's water quality report and hope you appreciate their artistic contributions. The grand prize artwork appears on the report cover, with other winning entries featured on the back. Please take time to review this report to learn about Moline's municipal water and join our students in appreciating the vital role quality water plays in our daily lives.
