We are pleased to present this year's Annual Municipal Water Quality Report. This document is designed to inform you about the quality of water and services we deliver to your home daily.

Our water comes from three wells drawing from the Englishtown Aquifer at approximately 700 feet depth. We also purchase water from the New Jersey Water Supply Authority's Manasquan Reservoir Water Supply System.

The Manasquan Water Treatment Plant is located on Hospital Road in Wall Township's Allenwood section. Owned by the Monmouth County Improvement Authority and operated by the New Jersey Water Supply Authority, the facility treats water from both the Manasquan River in Wall Township and the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell Township.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has completed a Source Water Assessment Report for our water system, available at WWW.Country.Nj.Us/dep/change or through NJDEP's Bureau of Safe Drinking Water at (609) 292-5550. This report includes source water susceptibility ratings and potential contaminant sources.

Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems—including cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, elderly individuals, and infants—should seek advice from healthcare providers regarding their drinking water. The EPA/CDC provides guidelines on reducing infection risk from Cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminants through the Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).

The Spring Lake Borough Water and Sewer Utility and Manasquan Water Supply System regularly monitor contaminants in your water according to Federal and State regulations. Our monitoring results from January through December 2017 are shown in the accompanying table. Some contaminants are monitored less frequently as their concentrations typically remain stable, so some data may be over a year old while still representative of current conditions.

NJ Water Supply Authority Manasquan Municipal Water Report Info

The New Jersey Water Supply Authority functions as an independent public entity established as a state instrumentality providing essential administrative services. Created by the New Jersey Water Supply Act on October 7, 1981, the Authority received ownership or leases of all state-owned water supply facilities.

Authority membership consists of the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (serving ex officio) and six public members appointed by the Governor with New Jersey Senate approval. These public representatives include members from agricultural interests, industrial water users, residential consumers, watershed associations, public finance, and water resource management sectors.

Through customer-supported funding, the Authority maintains reliable water delivery to central New Jersey residents while protecting source water quality and quantity. This mission is accomplished through strategic planning, watershed preservation, and restoration of critical environmental areas.

For more information, you can review the New Jersey Water Supply Authority Bylaws, implementation rules, and Administrative Code regulations on our website.
