Water Supply and Distribution System: The Town operates 9 groundwater supply wells, with seven located in the Ten Mile River Basin and two positioned in the Blackstone River Basin. The distribution network encompasses roughly 150 miles of water mains ranging from 4 to 16 inches in diameter.
North Attleborough's Water Source: Our community's water comes from nine groundwater wells strategically positioned throughout Town and in neighboring Plainville. We maintain two wells off Route 152 near Attleboro's boundary, two wells in Town's southwest section, one well adjacent to Whiting's Pond, and four wells in Plainville north of Whiting's Pond.
Water pumped from these wells travels through our 150-mile pipeline network with separate connections for each residence and business. Three water storage tanks help maintain adequate supply for emergency firefighting and peak summer demand. The system includes approximately 1,400 fire hydrants and serves over 8,700 homes and businesses throughout the community.
