About Us
The City of North Chicago (IL0971250) is pleased to present this annual water quality report. This overview covers water quality data from January 1 through December 31, 2017, and aims to provide our customers with essential information about their municipal water supply.
For questions regarding this report, please contact: DeWayne E. Roberson, North Chicago Water Dept. Plant Foreman, at (847) 596-8881 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Our water comes from Surface Water sources, specifically Lake Michigan. We utilize Intake (01301), established in 1958, located 6500 feet east of the shoreline. This intake is currently in active service.
All municipal water (including both tap and bottled varieties) originates from rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels across land surfaces or through underground layers, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and sometimes radioactive materials, and may pick up substances resulting from animal presence or human activities.
