California CDC Tap Water Info

For more information on your municipal water, visit the U.S. CDC:

Oildale MWC Municipal Water Company and CDC
  1. What is the City's Snow Removal Policy?

The Streets Division of Public Works aims to have streets plowed or treated as soon as possible after a storm ends, typically within 24 hours. During winter months, Public Works management constantly monitors weather forecasts for potential hazards. When threats are identified, city crews pre-treat bridges and target streets before focusing on keeping intersections open as storms progress. Our priority sequence is: emergency routes first, followed by primary and secondary routes.

  2. How can residents help during snow events?

Clear sidewalks adjacent to your property, maintain your alleyway (especially if it's your garage access), consider partnering with neighbors for snow removal services, and avoid unnecessary travel during storms. Don't follow too closely behind snowplows and emergency vehicles.

  3. Who handles property maintenance complaints?

Contact the Community Development Office at 913-367-5560 for issues like high weeds, abandoned properties, or junk vehicles. For noise complaints or other disturbances, call the Police non-emergency line at 913-367-4323.

  4. Does the City organize flea markets and community events?

Various individuals coordinate flea markets and community sales throughout the year. The City doesn't directly organize these events. Visit www.visitatchison.com for upcoming events or contact the Chamber at 913-367-2427 if you're interested in organizing one.
