About Us
We're pleased to present this year's Annual Consumer Confidence Report. Our mission is to keep you informed about the quality of water and services we've provided over the past year. Our consistent goal has been to deliver safe, reliable municipal water to our community.
Our water is sourced from Lake Okmulgee's surface water. Our source water protection plan, available at our office, indicates our system vulnerability as HIGH, along with information about potential contamination sources.
If you have questions about this report or our water service, please contact Clint Hudgens at 918-758-1199. We encourage our valued customers to stay informed about their water utility. City Council/Okmulgee Municipal Authority meetings are held at 5:00 PM on the third Tuesday monthly at City Hall Council Chambers. For updated meeting information, residents can call 918-756-4060.
The City of Okmulgee consistently monitors your water according to Federal and State regulations. This report shows our monitoring results from January 1st through December 31st, 2017. Some data may be from previous years as state regulations permit less frequent monitoring for certain contaminants. All municipal water, including bottled water, can reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some substances, though their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: In 1942, the City of Okmulgee established an agreement (CAA-AP-4) with the United States government regarding construction, operation, and maintenance of the Okmulgee Municipal Airport. This project was deemed essential for national security while remaining available for public use except during military requirements.
CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT: The Civil Aeronautics Administration directly supervised the airport's construction. The facility was completed and transferred to the City of Okmulgee on September 7, 1943. Prior to this, the city's only aviation facility was a grass landing strip located 3 miles east of town along Highway 62.
MILITARY SIGNIFICANCE: This earlier airfield served as a training ground for combat pilots and airborne assault personnel who later distinguished themselves during World War II Airborne Operations.
ADMINISTRATIVE DEVELOPMENT: In 1956, Ordinance No. 920 established an "Airport Department" and "Airport Board." Throughout the decades, the airport has undergone continuous improvements and updates while maintaining uninterrupted operations.
REGIONAL DESIGNATION: In 1999, the facility was renamed Okmulgee Regional Airport to reflect its classification by the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission. This designation indicates the airport meets specific criteria and serves a broader area beyond just the Okmulgee community.
