Parker WSD Municipal Water Company and EPAParker WSD Municipal Water Report Info
Established in 1962, Parker Water and Sanitation District has consistently prioritized providing safe, high-quality water services to our growing community. Our proactive approach to water management ensures long-term sustainability for current and future generations.
When the District first began operations, our service area had significantly fewer residents than today. The continuing growth of the south metro area presents ongoing challenges for water and sewer service management. Parker's heritage connects to some of Colorado's earliest pioneers who recognized the value of this land and its resources over a century ago.
Originally, the District relied primarily on well water. As our service area expanded and climate conditions changed, we've shifted focus toward renewable water sources and reduced dependence on depleting aquifers. This strategic approach strengthens our community's future!
Today's infrastructure includes state-of-the-art facilities like the Rueter-Hess Reservoir and Water Purification Facility. These critical assets help us meet increasing demand while extending the life of our groundwater resources. Through collaborative partnerships and ongoing development of necessary infrastructure, we continue acquiring, treating, storing, and delivering water to all our customers.
While Parker isn't at risk of running out of water, the District remains vigilant in protecting our resources and planning for future growth. Our water management strategies focus on sustainability and responsiveness to community needs.
