Potential contaminants in source water before treatment include:
- Microbial contaminants like viruses and bacteria from sewage treatment facilities, septic systems, agricultural operations and wildlife
- Inorganic contaminants such as salts and metals occurring naturally or from urban runoff, wastewater discharges, oil/gas production, mining or farming
- Pesticides and herbicides from various agricultural and residential applications
- Radioactive contaminants that occur naturally

Summary: To comply with Federal Safe Municipal Water Act requirements, the City of Sand Springs issues annual reports on water quality monitoring. This report helps residents make informed health decisions and understand their water source and content. For the 2017 calendar year (2018 results forthcoming in 2019), Total Coliform levels remained below established limits. All other detected contaminants were present in trace amounts well below Federal MCLs, posing no significant health concerns.

Medal of Valor, two Life Saving Awards, City Employee of the Year, and twice being named Officer of the Year.
