The Scottsboro Water, Sewer and Gas Board operates two surface water treatment facilities. Both facilities draw water directly from the Tennessee River. Currently, these plants have a combined daily treatment capacity of 8-million gallons.
Supporting our treatment plants are 10 storage tanks with a total capacity of 9 million gallons. Most of our facility operators maintain certifications through rigorous training, examination, and ongoing education requirements set by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
We regularly test our treated water to ensure residents receive the safest and highest-quality water possible from their taps.
