City Hall is located at 8650 California Avenue and operates Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. City Council meetings occur on the second and fourth Tuesday monthly at 6:30 p.m.
Recreation and Attractions: South Gate maintains 9 parks totaling nearly 170 acres. South Gate Park, the largest, houses the main recreational facilities and community programs. For entertainment, residents can visit Tweedy Mile for local shops and restaurants, El Paseo for dinner and movies, or the Azalea shopping center. Every Monday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., the South Gate Farmers' Market at South Gate Park offers fresh seasonal produce, flowers, cheeses, baked goods, and various prepared foods.
