About Us
Spanish Fork City maintains a Drinking Water Source Safety Plan available for public review. This document contains valuable information about source protection zones, potential contamination sources, and management strategies implemented to safeguard our municipal water supply.
Our water sources have been assessed as having a low susceptibility level to potential contaminants. Nevertheless, we've developed additional protective measures to further shield these sources from contamination. If you have questions about our source protection program, please contact us directly.
The water distribution system contains numerous connections. When properly installed and maintained, these connections pose minimal risk. However, improper or unauthorized plumbing modifications can adversely affect water quality throughout the system. Cross-connections may allow pollutants or chemicals to enter the water supply when proper protections are absent.
As a homeowner, you can help by ensuring no improper connections exist on your property. An unprotected hose lying in puddles or a yard sprinkler system after fertilizing creates potential cross-connections. These situations put your household at immediate risk if contaminants backflow into your plumbing.
We're pleased to report that our municipal water meets all federal and state requirements. For questions about this report or our water utility services, please call 801-804-4500. We encourage our valued customers to stay informed about their water utility. Monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday at 6:00 pm at the Town Office Building, 40 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.
Spanish Fork routinely monitors for constituents in our water supply as required by Federal and Utah State regulations. Our monitoring results for January 1st through December 31st, 2016 are available for review. All water sources, including bottled water, may reasonably contain small amounts of some substances, though their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.
