Ohio Water Utility Companies

Springboro sources its public water from buried sand and gravel aquifers connected to the Great Miami River. The city currently operates six wells to extract water from these underground sources. All of Springboro's water is pumped to the treatment facility on Pennyroyal Street, where it undergoes filtration and receives chlorine and fluoride treatment.

Water quality remains the primary focus of Springboro's treatment facility. The dedicated team of certified operators and laboratory staff conducts ongoing testing to ensure the highest quality standards are consistently maintained. Residents with water quality concerns can address the City Council, which convenes on the first and third Thursday monthly at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 320 W. Central.

Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems—including cancer patients undergoing treatment, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, certain elderly individuals, and infants—face higher risks from infections. These residents should consult healthcare providers about their water consumption. For information on reducing Cryptosporidium infection risk, contact the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791.

All water sources, including bottled water, may contain small amounts of contaminants. Their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, call the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791.

Springboro has emergency water connections with the City of Franklin (west side) and Warren County (east side). These connections undergo maintenance flushing every six months, releasing approximately 8,000 gallons in each direction as preventative care.
