Springboro sources its public water from buried sand and gravel aquifers connected to the Great Miami River. The city currently operates six wells to extract water from these underground sources. All of Springboro's water is pumped to the treatment facility on Pennyroyal Street, where it undergoes filtration and receives chlorine and fluoride treatment.

Water quality remains the primary focus of Springboro's treatment facility. The dedicated team of certified operators and laboratory staff conducts ongoing testing to ensure the highest quality standards are consistently maintained. Residents with water quality concerns can address the City Council, which convenes on the first and third Thursday monthly at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 320 W. Central.
