Resource Water Assessment: The Department of Organic Resources conducted a source water evaluation to determine vulnerability of water sources to potential contaminants. This process involved mapping source water areas for each well or surface intake, followed by a contaminant inventory within these areas to assess potential threats.

Why are there contaminants in my water?

The Water Division produces and distributes municipal water throughout the community. The City's water treatment facility located on Elm Point Road produces approximately 40% of our water needs, while the remaining 60% comes from the City of Saint Louis via a pump station in Heritage Landing Subdivision.
Our Water Division maintains and repairs the city's water infrastructure, including water mains, meters, treatment plants, pumping stations, and water storage facilities. As a full-service utility, we're responsible for:

- Installation of new water service connections
- Repair of water main breaks
- Color-coding fire hydrants to indicate available flow capacity

These samples are either analyzed in our laboratory at the Elm Point Water Treatment Plant or sent to state-certified testing facilities.
