About Us
We're proud to present this year's Annual Quality Water Report designed to inform you about the quality of water we deliver daily. Our primary goal is providing safe, reliable municipal water service to all our customers.
We source our water from Lake Hartwell through the Anderson Regional Joint Water System. If you have questions about this report or our water utility, please contact Steve Wilson at 864-225-5741.
We encourage our valued customers to stay informed about their water system. Please join us at our Annual Meeting held the first Tuesday in February. Your January water bill will include details about the exact date and time.
West Anderson Water District continuously monitors your municipal water as required by Federal and State regulations. Our monitoring results from January 1st to December 31st, 2015 are available for review. All municipal water, including bottled water, may reasonably contain small amounts of some constituents, which doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.
Our Source Water Assessment Plan is available at https://gemgrp.com/eReports/CNMA000137Y18.pdf. If you don't have internet access, contact Steve Wilson at 864-225-5741 to arrange to review this document.
All water sources may contain naturally occurring or human-made substances including microbes, inorganic/organic chemicals, and radioactive materials. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, call the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. Those with compromised immune systems (cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, people with HIV/AIDS, elderly persons, and infants) should seek advice from healthcare providers regarding water consumption. EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing infection risk from cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminants are available through the Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).
