About Us
We're pleased to present this year's Annual Quality Water Report. This document details the high-quality water and services we provide daily to our community. Our ongoing mission is to deliver safe, reliable water while continually improving our treatment processes and protecting our vital water resources.
Our water comes from several sources: local service area wells, our Clearwater Pond surface water treatment plant, and purchased water from both Edgefield County Water and Sewer and the City of North Augusta (both using Savannah River sources).
You can review our Source Water Assessment Plan at www.Scdhec.Gov/HomeAndEnvironment/Water/SourceWaterProtection/mindex.Htm. If you don't have internet access, please contact Jeff Lowe, General Manager at 803-663-6455 to arrange viewing this report.
For questions about this report or our water utility, please contact Jeff Lowe, General Manager at 803-663-6455. We encourage customers to stay informed about their water utility. Our regularly scheduled meetings are held at 6:30 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 506 Bettis Academy Road, Graniteville SC.
Breezy Hill Water District routinely monitors your water according to Federal and State regulations. As water travels over land or underground, it can collect various substances including microbes, inorganic and organic chemicals, and radioactive materials. All drinking water, including bottled water, reasonably contains small amounts of some constituents, though their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk.
Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. People with compromised immune systems (such as cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, HIV/AIDS patients, elderly individuals, and infants) should seek advice from healthcare providers about their drinking water. EPA/CDC guidelines on reducing infection risk from cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminants are available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
If present, elevated lead levels can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead primarily comes from materials in service lines and home plumbing. While we provide high-quality water, we can't control the components used in plumbing fixtures. You can minimize potential lead exposure by flushing your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. For concerns about lead, consider water testing. Information is available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline or at http:/www.Epa.Gov/safewater/lead.
For infants under six months, nitrate levels above 10 ppm pose a health risk that can cause blue baby syndrome. Nitrate levels may rise rapidly during rainfall or agricultural activity. If caring for an infant, please consult your healthcare provider about water safety.

Breezy Hill WD Drinking Water Company and EPABreezy Hill WD Municipal Water Report Info
Welcome to Breezy Hill Water and Sewer, a non-profit water utility proudly serving the Breezy Hill area of Graniteville, South Carolina. Our history began in 1968 when local residents recognized the need for a public water system. The district was formally incorporated as Breezy Hill Water and Sewer Co., Inc. on June 14, 1968.
Established as a not-for-profit corporation, we're governed by an elected five-member Board of Directors. Operations officially began in December 1969 with 297 residential connections. As word spread about our reliable public water system, we expanded throughout the 1970s to include Madison, New Hope, and the Clearwater section of the county.
By 1978, our service area had grown to reach the Liberty Hill area and extended to Highway 25 on Ascauga Lake Road. Our final territorial expansion occurred in 1991 when we incorporated the Sage Mill Industrial Park into our service area.
Today, we provide water service to approximately 5,500 customers and sewer service to about 400 customers, with our sewer system continuing to grow. From an initial investment of $500,000, our system is now valued well over $10 million dollars, operating 13 wells, 11 tanks, and purchasing water from two neighboring entities through master meters.
