Is your tap water safe to drink? Yes, our water meets all EPA health standards. We've conducted extensive testing for over 80 potential contaminants found in municipal water supplies. As shown in our reports, only 12 of these substances were detected, all at levels considered safe for consumption.

Where does your water come from? Our surface water is sourced from the Morristown Facilities Systems. We work diligently to protect this water from contamination and collaborate with the State to evaluate our water supply's vulnerability to potential pollutants.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has developed a Source Water Assessment Plan (SWAP) Report for untreated water sources serving our system. This SWAP Report identifies how susceptible our untreated water sources are to potential contamination.

To ensure safe water quality, our public water system treats and regularly tests the water. Sources are rated as moderately susceptible, moderately vulnerable or slightly vulnerable based on geological factors and human activities near the water supply. The Alpha-Talbott Utility District sources are classified as moderately susceptible to potential contamination.
