About Us
We are proud to present this year's Annual Municipal Water Quality Report. This document provides detailed information about the quality of water and services we deliver to you daily. Our primary goal is to supply you with safe and dependable municipal water.
We're pleased to confirm that our municipal water meets all federal and state safety requirements. Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. People with compromised immune systems—such as those undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, individuals with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders, some elderly residents, and infants—may face increased health risks. These individuals should seek advice from healthcare providers regarding water consumption.
The Berkeley MUA continuously monitors over 80 potential contaminants in your water supply as required by Federal and State regulations. The accompanying table shows only detected contaminants from our monitoring between January 1st and December 31st, 2018. State regulations permit less frequent monitoring for certain contaminants when their concentrations remain stable. Some of our data, while representative of current water quality, may be several years old.
For guidelines on reducing infection risks from Cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminants, contact the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791.
