City of Bremerton
About Us
Bremerton's municipal water system is managed and maintained by certified State professionals. The Unification River source provides such exceptional water quality that the City isn't required to install a full purification facility as long as water quality standards, testing protocols, and watershed security requirements are met.
Bremerton consistently achieves these high standards. Current treatment includes disinfection through chlorine and ultraviolet (UV) light, plus corrosion control. The corrosion treatment raises water pH to approximately 8, preventing lead leaching from residential plumbing systems. Regular sampling confirms the effectiveness of this approach.
The City conducts systematic flushing of the water distribution network. Residents receive notifications about flushing activities through newspaper announcements, community signage, the City's website, e-News, and the Water Hotline (360-473-5490). This flushing process creates rapid water flow through mains for cleaning purposes, maintaining quality by removing naturally-occurring sediment.
Flushing may temporarily discolor your water. If this occurs, consult the Water Hotline or visit Bremerton's website for service flushing guidelines. Should your water remain cloudy after following these procedures, contact the Customer Response Line at 360-473-5920.

About Us: The City of Bothell Fire Department began with a small group of community volunteers and 50 water buckets. The need for a local firefighting team was sparked by the devastating Easter Sunday fire of 1911 that destroyed multiple downtown Bothell businesses.
The department was officially established in 1913 under Fire Chief Enning Pearson. It wasn't until 1973, following the implementation of the federal Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, that the first paid professional firefighters were hired.
The Bothell Fire Department has evolved with changing times. Growth in staff and equipment forced the department to relocate from its original location north of the 102nd Street bridge to the City Hall basement in 1936. In the late 1970s, it moved to its current Beardslee Boulevard location.
Today, Fire Chief Bruce Kroon leads the department with 55 firefighters, 12 administrative staff, 5 fire engines, 1 ladder truck, 4 aid vehicles, and 1 wildfire unit.
