About Us
Nevada regulations now require municipalities considering new ordinances or amendments that might place significant economic burdens on businesses to conduct thorough impact analyses. This process includes preparing formal business impact statements and distributing proposed changes to potentially affected parties, including local businesses, trade associations, and the Chamber of Commerce, ensuring proper notification to all stakeholders who might experience effects from regulatory changes.

City of Elko Drinking Water Company and EPACity of Elko Municipal Water Report Info
We are pleased to present this year's Annual Water Quality Report (Consumer Confidence Report) as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act. This document provides information about your water source, its contents, and how it compares to regulatory standards.
This report covers January 1, 2017-December 31, 2017, with some data from 2015-2016 where relevant. During this period, we analyzed over 100 potential contaminants. Of the 18 contaminants detected, 17 were well below EPA limits. The City Water Department is addressing the one contaminant that exceeded MCL standards, as detailed later in this report.
THE CITY OF ELKO WATER DEPARTMENT TAKES IMMENSE PRIDE IN DELIVERING QUALITY WATER TO OUR CUSTOMERS.
Special Health Considerations: Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than others. People with compromised immune systems (cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, organ transplant recipients, HIV/AIDS patients), elderly residents, and infants should seek medical advice about their water consumption. EPA/CDC guidelines for reducing infection risks from microorganisms like Cryptosporidium are available through the Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).
Water Source Information: Elko's water comes from 17 wells tapping the underground aquifer known as the Elko Segment of the Humboldt River Basin. A source water assessment was conducted in 2017 and is available by contacting the Elko Water Department at 775-777-7375.
About Water Contaminants: All municipal water and bottled water may contain small amounts of certain contaminants. Their presence doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, contact the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline (800-426-4791).
Water sources (both tap and bottled) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. As water travels across land or underground, it dissolves naturally occurring minerals and can pick up substances from animal presence or human activity.
