This report provides essential information about your municipal water and the efforts made by our water system to deliver safe water to Rosenberg residents. The City of Rosenberg Utilities Department oversees the production, treatment and distribution of water throughout our community.

WATER SOURCE INFORMATION: Rosenberg obtains its water from groundwater drawn from the Evangeline and Chicot aquifers. As water travels through the ground, it dissolves naturally-occurring minerals and may pick up substances from animal or human activity.
POTENTIAL CONTAMINANTS IN SOURCE WATER INCLUDE:
- Microbial contaminants from sewage treatment plants, septic systems, agricultural operations, and wildlife
- Inorganic contaminants like salts and metals that occur naturally or result from urban runoff and industrial discharges
- Pesticides and herbicides from agriculture, urban runoff, and residential uses
- Organic chemical contaminants from industrial processes, petroleum production, gas stations, and septic systems
- Radioactive contaminants that may be naturally occurring or result from oil/gas production
