The Texas City Museum receives support from the City of Texas City. Located at 409 sixth Street North in Texas City, the Museum acquired its current facility in March 1992. The 30,000-square-foot structure, formerly the old J.C. Penney building, was donated by the McDaniel family of La Marque.

Since opening its doors in March 1994, the Museum has welcomed visitors from across the United States and internationally. The Texas City Museum inspires exploration of the past, engagement with the present, and discovery of the future. It's a place that challenges both emotions and intellect.

The Galveston County Model Railroad Club Exhibit is also available to visitors every Saturday on the museum's second floor.
