About Us
We're pleased to present the Annual Municipal Water Quality Report for the 2017 calendar year. Our mission is to keep you informed about the quality and services we deliver to you daily. Our primary goal remains providing you with safe, reliable municipal water.
Our water is sourced from the Floridan Aquifer and undergoes chlorination for disinfection purposes, ensuring public health and safety. If you have questions about this report or our water service, please contact our Water Treatment Facility at 407-327-8992 weekdays between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
In 2017, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) conducted a Source Water Assessment of our system to identify potential contamination sources near our groundwater supply wells. You can view these assessment results on the FDEP Source Water Assessment and Protection Program website at www.dep.state.fl.us/swapp.
The City of Winter Springs regularly monitors for contaminants in your tap water according to Federal and State regulations. This report presents data collected from January 1 to December 31, 2017, along with relevant earlier data obtained under applicable regulations.
Below you'll find some technical terms and abbreviations to help you understand this report:
- Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL): The highest allowed contaminant level in municipal water
- Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG): The contaminant level below which no known health risks exist
- Action Level (AL): The concentration that triggers treatment requirements
- Maximum Residual Disinfectant Level (MRDL): The highest allowed disinfectant level
- Parts per billion (ppb) or Parts per million (ppm): Measurements of contaminant concentration
If present, elevated lead levels can cause serious health problems, especially for pregnant women and young children. Lead in municipal water primarily comes from materials in service lines and home plumbing. While we provide high-quality water, we cannot control the materials used in plumbing components. You can minimize potential lead exposure by running your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. For more information on lead in water, visit http://www.epa.gov/safewater/lead.

City of Winter Springs Municipal Water Company and EPACity of Winter Springs Municipal Water Report Info
The EPA establishes standards and regulations for public water systems across the United States. These standards help protect public health by limiting contaminant levels in water supplied by public systems.
Regular testing ensures your water meets these standards, and annual reports like this one provide transparency about water quality in your community.
