  1. Do you accept phone payments? No. Payments can only be made online, in-person or by mail. To pay your bill online, click the link to our secure online payment portal here. To pay in-person or by mail: Plainview Water District, 10 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview, New York 11803, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
  2. What is the service fee for online bill payments? We offer our customers 24/7 online bill payment capability. Credit card transactions incur a 2.65% service fee while ACH transactions cost $1.50. Note that New York State law prohibits the Plainview Water District from receiving any portion of this fee. The processing vendor retains all fees based on credit card company and transaction clearinghouse established rates.
  3. When is my next bill due? Plainview Water District bills customers quarterly. Find the schedule here.
  4. Is there a grace period for payments? No grace period exists. In accordance with New York State Town Law, the due date on your bill is the absolute deadline.
  5. What's the average bill amount? Each customer's usage varies based on different factors including household size, lawn size, home dimensions, etc. For this reason, we cannot provide an accurate average.
  6. Why is this bill higher than my previous one? Several factors affect water bill fluctuations: Weather changes (compare bills from corresponding periods, like August 2023 vs August 2022); Changed living arrangements; Additional rental units; Possible leaks (check for dripping faucets and other less obvious signs).
  7. I'm selling my home - how do I close my account? Complete and submit a final reading request form and contact our office at (516) 931-6469 to schedule a final meter reading and inspection appointment. A $50.00 service charge applies to all final readings. Click here for our final reading request form.
  8. How do I activate service (residential/commercial)? Call the office at (516) 931-6469. A minimum fee may apply. However, water service typically remains on when a house is being purchased.
  9. Is a deposit required? Fees apply to new, non-existing service. For more information, call our office at (516) 931-6469.
  10. When will my service be activated? Service begins once all requirements are fulfilled.
