The Charter Township of Garfield is currently accepting applications for a Deputy Director of Planning. As a member of the Township Planning and Development team, you will perform professional work in urban and long-range planning fields.

Primary responsibilities include evaluating development applications, implementing planning policies, assisting with studies and plan updates, and managing the Township Geographic Information System (GIS) and Parks Recreation programs.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in urban planning, environmental studies, public administration or related field, plus two years of professional planning experience. Additionally, two years of GIS technical experience or advanced GIS coursework completion is required. AICP certification is preferred within one year of hire.

Benefits include a four-day workweek with flexible scheduling for evening meetings. Salary range: $49,605 to $58,605 depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
