About Us
Firgrove's water supply comes from 16 active wells distributed throughout their service territory. These wells extract water from the Firgrove, Frederickson, and Deepwater aquifers, which are naturally replenished yearly through regional rainfall.
Tacoma Water provides supplementary water through three interconnections. This supplemental supply originates from the Green River Watershed surface water. For emergency situations, Firgrove maintains two additional interconnections - one with Rainier View and another with Fruitland.
By the end of 2017, Firgrove served 9,541 connections, supporting approximately 25,000 residents. During that year, 300 new connections were added to the system. Total water production reached 1.07 billion gallons, with August being the peak month (168.7 million gallons) and February the lowest (55.3 million gallons).
Future system improvements include additional interconnections with Tacoma Water, transmission main upgrades, and a new water storage tank planned for the Lipoma Firs area.

Located in the northwestern corner of Washington State near the Nooksack River, Ferndale was officially incorporated on March 19, 1907. Originally known as "Jam" due to its location by a river logjam, the city was renamed Ferndale by a local teacher who admired the ferns growing around the original schoolhouse.
Today, Ferndale has grown into a vibrant community of 13,250 residents (according to the April 1, 2016 Washington State Office of Financial Management population estimate). The city is conveniently situated along the Interstate 5 corridor, approximately 6 miles north of Bellingham and just 13 miles south of the Canadian border.
Residents enjoy proximity to numerous attractions including Mount Baker, the San Juan Islands, various lakes, and the Nooksack River. Ferndale's location also offers convenient access to Vancouver, British Columbia.
