How do I contact Customer Service/Utility Billing?

Utility and service inquiries can be addressed by calling 620-221-5500, sending an email to customerservice@winfieldks.org, or visiting City Hall at 200 E. Ninth in person.

What are the operational hours?

City Hall at 200 E. 9th is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A 24-hour accessible drop box is located at the 9th Street entrance. Additional drop boxes can be found at Apple Market and Dillons.

What utility services does Winfield provide?

"Full Service" remains our commitment at the City of Winfield. Residents in Winfield and surrounding areas receive electric, natural gas, water, refuse collection, and wastewater services from the City.

How do I establish utility services?

  1. Where does Galion City water come from?
Galion City supplies surface water to Galion, Ohio.
  2. Does Galion City test its tap water?
Yes. Like every public water system, Galion City must test its water under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act and publish an annual water quality report (Consumer Confidence Report). Ask the utility for the latest report or look for it on its website.
  3. How do I contact Galion City?
Call 419-468-1857 or visit 301 Harding Way East, Galion, OH 44833, or use the contact options on the utility’s website.
  4. Does Galion City water contain lead?
Water usually leaves the treatment plant without lead. Lead can enter tap water from older service lines, solder and brass fixtures inside homes, especially when water sits in the pipes. Run the tap before drinking if water has been sitting, and ask the utility about lead testing and service line records.
  5. Is Galion City water hard?
Hardness depends on the source and changes over time. The annual water quality report lists hardness, or you can test it at home. If it is above about 7 grains per gallon, a water softener sized to your measured hardness will stop scale and spotting.

What payment options are available?

You can pay in person with cash, check, credit cards (Discover, Visa, MasterCard), or debit cards. Online payments are accepted through the City's online service or your personal banking system. For convenience, payments can be deposited in night drop boxes at City Hall's 9th Street entrance or at Dillon's.
