Elevated lead levels in water can pose serious health risks, particularly for expectant mothers and young children. While Scioto County Regional Water District #1 delivers quality municipal water, they cannot control all plumbing components in your home.

If water has been stagnant for several hours, reduce potential lead exposure by running your tap for 30-120 seconds before using water for consumption or cooking. Those concerned about lead content may wish to have their water tested.

Information about lead in water, testing options, and exposure reduction strategies are available through the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791 or http://www.epa.gov/safewater/lead.

The EPA requires regular testing to ensure safety. We're pleased to report all contaminants tested in 2017 were within EPA-established limits, with no violations found. We currently maintain an unconditional certificate to operate our water system.
