In 1971, Tom and Pat Herrin established a pump installation and service business in Helena. By 1972, they expanded to include sprinkler installation services, becoming one of the first sprinkler contractors in the Helena area and pioneering "trenchless" installation methods.
After many years of selling irrigation systems and pumps for distributors, Ralph Price joined Herrin Water Systems in March 2000 as an employee with an agreement to begin purchasing the business. Ralph and Elaine Price completed the acquisition of Herrin Water Systems in 2006.
In 2015, we decided to change our operating name to Helena Water Systems to better reflect the current ownership of the corporation. Though we have a new name and different logos on our service trucks, our commitment to customers past and future remains unchanged.
Helena Water Systems is the operating name of Herrin Water Systems, Inc. We provide installation and service of underground lawn sprinklers for residential and small commercial properties. We can irrigate your new or established lawn, planters, gardens, or fields.
Service and repairs are integral to our business—not just something we do when we can fit it in. We're proud to still maintain the first sprinkler system that Herrin Water Systems installed in 1972. We take pride in our workmanship and strive to deliver courteous, timely, and efficient service.
In addition to sprinkler systems, we also install and service domestic water well systems, including pumps, pressure tanks, well controls, and yard hydrants. Our pump expertise allows us to service water features, rainwater harvesting storage, and drainage installations. We are fully insured and licensed in both the City of Helena and the State of Montana.
