New Jersey Water Utility Companies

The Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority is proud to present our 2017 Annual Municipal Water Quality Report. Our mission is to deliver safe, dependable water that meets or exceeds the strictest standards set by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

If you're a property manager in Jackson Township, please share this report with your tenants. Our Public Water System I.D. is #1511001.

System Improvements:
We're enhancing our potable water storage by building a new 2 million gallon tank to replace two aging tanks (47 and 53 years old) on New York Street. This upgrade will increase storage capacity by 0.8 million gallons. The new tank should be operational by September 2018. Additionally, the Six Flags Water Treatment Plant and Western Water Main Extension projects were awarded on February 22, 2018.

24-Hour Emergency Service:
For water or sewage emergencies, please call 732-928-2222 anytime, day or night.

Key System Facts:

  • We serve 12,091 accounts
  • Average daily water supply: 3.16 million gallons
  • Total water storage capacity: 6.05 million gallons
  • Water main network: 185.16 miles
  • Treatment capacity: 12.39 million gallons daily
  • 1,517 hydrants throughout the township

Water Sources:
Jackson Township's water comes entirely from confined aquifers. Our primary source is the middle Potomac-Raritan-Magothy (PRM) formation at approximately 1,400 feet deep. Secondary sources include the Upper PRM (960 feet deep), the Englishtown Aquifer (500 feet deep), and the Vincentown Aquifer (200 feet deep). With proper management, these sources will provide Jackson Township with abundant clean water for generations to come.
