To ensure tap water remains safe to consume, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the State Water Resources Control Board (State Board) implement regulations restricting contaminant levels in public water systems. State Board regulations also establish similar protective limits for bottled water contaminants.

About Us
The Los Angeles County Waterworks Districts (LACWD) takes pride in the service we provide to our customers and communities. Serving approximately 240,000 residents, LACWD maintains high-quality customer care while promoting environmentally responsible practices. Our mission extends beyond providing reliable water—we also educate customers and community members about simple water conservation techniques.
We operate five Districts delivering retail water service to Kagel Canyon, Malibu, Val Verde, Acton, and the Antelope Valley. Additionally, LACWD manages the Marina Del Rey Water System for the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, oversees the Rancho Los Amigos Water System for Los Angeles County, and administers the water quality program for the Peter J. Pitchess Honor Rancho water system.
