This Municipal Water Report serves as MEWCo's annual update on the quality and safety of your tap water. The report includes water quality monitoring results performed on MEWCo's water system, as required by state and federal regulations. The testing period covers January 1st through December 31st, 2017.
The report also provides access to references and phone numbers for water assessments, health effects information, and additional details about MEWCo's water program. This information enables you to make health-based decisions regarding your water consumption and become more involved in decisions that may affect your health.
All water sources, including bottled water, may reasonably contain at least small amounts of certain contaminants. The presence of contaminants doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk. For more information about contaminants and potential health effects, please contact the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1-800-426-4791).
Some individuals may be more vulnerable to water contaminants than the general population. People with compromised immune systems—such as those undergoing cancer treatment, organ transplant recipients, individuals with HIV/AIDS or other immune disorders, some elderly, and infants—may be particularly susceptible to infections. These individuals should seek advice from their healthcare providers regarding drinking water. EPA/CDC guidelines on appropriate measures to reduce infection risks from cryptosporidium and other microbial contaminants are available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1-800-426-4791).
