Washington Water Utility Companies

The City of Yakima is pleased to present our annual report on municipal water quality. Beyond sharing testing results, we hope this information helps you understand your tap water and builds confidence in the high-quality water we provide to our community.

Our Water/Irrigation Division staff maintains 24/7 vigilance and service, ensuring your tap water meets and exceeds state and federal requirements.

Water Source Information: The Naches River supplies most of Yakima's municipal water. Our intake is located along Highway 12, feeding the Naches River Water Treatment Plant at Rowe Hill. After treatment, water flows by gravity across the highway into city distribution lines.

During heavy runoff periods or when plant maintenance is needed, we can access four wells located at Kiwanis Park, Kissel Park, Gardner Park, and Yakima Airport. These wells draw from the Ellensburg Aquifer and undergo regular quality testing to ensure safety.
